Human Target
What happens when a man makes a living by becoming someone else—literally? Human Target
dives deep into this question, following Christopher Chance, a master of disguise who protects
clients by impersonating them and drawing danger away.

The original series by Peter Milligan (with striking art by Javier Pulido and Cliff Chiang) set the
tone: dark, stylish, and philosophical. But it was the recent 12-issue run by Tom King and Greg
Smallwood that truly redefined the character. Set against a retro-noir backdrop, King’s Human
Target tells the story of Chance being slowly poisoned and given just twelve days to solve his
own murder. Each issue becomes a countdown, exploring guilt, identity, and
fatalism—beautifully rendered through Smallwood’s lush, vintage-inspired art.

What makes Human Target stand out isn’t just the mystery at its core, but the existential
questions it raises: How well do you know the face you see in the mirror—and how much of it
belongs to you?

Whether you’re a fan of classic noir, character-driven storytelling, or graphic novels with a
unique visual style, Human Target offers something truly memorable.
