Marvel Cinematic Universe is now the biggest thing in Hollywood, and nothing else is even in a 1000 miles radius to compete with the firepower of the MCU. These last 6 years, MCU has established itself really well, bringing in so many characters that we have now grown to love a lot. The entire MCU actually revolves mostly around Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man, but the second character really in command in the MCU is Captain America.
Captain America is one of the three big guns of the MCU. Every MCU fan hails what Chris Evans has done as this character because Chris Evans surely is to Captain America what Robert Downey Jr. is to Iron Man. Some Marvel fans may even like Evans’ Cap much more than they like Downey’s Iron Man. Iron Man has a fandom because of the advancements in his armour that come in with every new armour he wears, but Captain America excites people with the his raw strengths and abilities, and the fact that he is a total bad-ass!
Cap has pulled off some insane feats in his time within the MCU. He brought down Schmidt’s evil plans and had a huge hand in giving America its Freedom. Then he fought against the army of aliens along with the Avengers. Later he took down the threat of Hydra taking over the entire world creating a new order, and he also saved Millions and Billions of lives. After that he fought against the army of Robots, he fought for his best friend, and finally went up against the Mad Titan and his army.
Cap’s strength and abilities are commendable and what he has done for the people of this entire world is just amazing. But still the extent of his strength astonishes all of us. He was able to hold off Thanos while he was wearing the Infinity Gauntlet. But the most surprising feat that Cap unintentionally pulled off was being alive for more than 70 years in conditions way below 0 Degrees Celsius.
We all know how he got his powers after Doctor Erskine’s Super Soldier experiment. From there on, he became God’s righteous man, leading his country to glory. But still, the conditions that he was able to survive in raise too many eyebrows when you think about it. A Reddit user named darthalex22 posted an explanation through photo telling how exactly Cap was able to survive in those freezing conditions for more than 70 years.
Here’s the explanation that many fans would like for Marvel to confirm officially:
“Physical examination of Capt. Rogers revealed that while thickened, his blood’s water was not frozen. Blood tests revealed that his blood contained excessive amounts of glucose as a result of his liver processing his glycogen stores, thus lowering the freezing temperature of blood-borne water and creating a ‘cryoprotectant’. This process is similar to that of Water-Bears (Tardigrades) and hibernating Wood Frogs who metabolize glycogen in their liver to circulate copious amounts through their body to reduce the osmotic shrinkage of cells and stop from freezing. This, however, has never been seen before in humans.”
Well, as astounding as Captain America is, people also love to see what he has done in all his MCU appearances. From his solo movies to team up movies to even cameo appearances, we have enjoyed every bit of screen time that Cap has got. Captain America vs. the Winter Soldier and Cap V Iron Man were the two most epic fights that he has been in, while all the suits that we have seen till now have been really amazing. After Iron Man, Cap is the one who has the biggest fandom in the entire MCU.
